When you’re considering making a change in your career, it can be challenging to know where to start. Should you take the risk and just quit your job? Or should you find another position within the company that doesn’t require such drastic measures? There are many factors worth considering when deciding on what’s best for you – here are some of them!
#1: What Are Your Interests?
Does your current career path allow you to explore all of the things that interest you? If not, this is a good sign it’s time for a change. You need something in your life that keeps you challenged and happy every day! Work shouldn’t be another thing adding stress into our lives – if anything, work should help relieve some of our daily stresses. Look around at what other people are doing with their careers; we often look up to those who seem happier than we do with their jobs.
Whether they’re bloggers or doctors or lawyers: everyone has interests outside of their job! So it’s essential to figure out how these fit into your own life before making drastic changes like quitting your job.
#2: How Much Money Do You Want to Make?
Everyone has a different idea of what success looks like, but there’s one thing that’s for certain: you need to make enough money in your career to be able to afford the things you want. While it might not always be possible, try and work towards having more control over how much money is coming into your household.
There are many reasons why making as much money as possible shouldn’t necessarily be everyone’s goal – health insurance being only one example! However, if this interests you, consider these questions: How high do I want my income bracket to go? What kind of sacrifices am I willing/able to make for long-term security? Don’t worry about what you’ve done up to now or even the mistakes you’ve made; whether you need to remove mugshots or begin your studies from scratch, anything can be fixed!
#3: What Type of Work Environment Do You Want to Work In?
While it might not be possible to have a job that you’re 100% passionate about, there are many things we can do to improve the way in which our work environment is constructed. Some people prefer an office while others don’t mind working from home or wherever else they feel comfortable! If your current career doesn’t allow for this type of flexibility, consider looking into jobs with more remote options.
Is having flexible hours important? How much travel must be involved, if any at all? These are factors worth considering when deciding on what kind of work environment you want to invest your time and energy into!
#4: Do You Need Flexibility With Your Schedule?
Having a flexible schedule is one of the many perks that come with working for yourself! There are also jobs out there where you can have more flexibility if this is something you’re looking for. If not, consider speaking to your manager about what options are available within
your company. Not everyone has access to these benefits, so it’s important to take advantage when you have the chance!
