If you’re bored of your usual life where not much happens; you wake up, get ready, go to work, remain bored, go home, go to bed, and do it all over again, then you may be in real need for a change of scenery. The reason we do this with our lives is because we need money. We need to make an income so that we can pay our way through life and be able to buy the things that we want. But doing a job that you don’t enjoy can have a serious impact on your mental health. The negativity becomes a cycle until you don’t even realise you’re unhappy anymore because you’re just so used to it.

You don’t want to fall into this trap, and luckily for you, you don’t have to. If you’re looking for a career change that takes you on an adventure and allows you to go off and see the world while doing something you love – now is the time.

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking.

Flight Attendant

If stepping on a plane gives you an instant rush of excitement, then why not consider being a flight attendant. You will have to have great social and interpersonal skills to do this job as you will be dealing with many different types of people every day with various wants and needs. What a lot of people tend to overlook with doing this job, is the fact that there are breaks. As a passenger on an airplane, you only see them do their job, but once that shift is over, they may have landed in a stunning location. As staff, they get to reap the benefits of the accommodation if need be, as well as the food, and of course, get to wander and explore the country in their free time.

Teach English

If you like children and have always had a secret passion with the idea of teaching, then this is for you. You can travel to an array of different countries with tefl, and stay there for an allotted time, be it 5 months or even more, teaching eager children how to speak English. The great thing about a career like this is that it’s always changing. Once you’ve done the first initial job over a period of time, you can head home for a little bit, and set off again to a brand new environment, learning about the culture, the food, the people, and the surroundings while you’re there.

Au Pair

Being an au pair is another way of saying nanny, but they tend to live-in, rather than pop round and then leave when the parents get home. There are hundreds and thousands of au pair jobs all over the world, and a lot of families welcome the idea of having a foreigner come because you can teach one another things about culture, and the child benefits from this an awful lot too. They will cover your accommodation, and sometimes even transport which means you have your own car while you’re there. When you’re not needed, you can essentially do whatever you want, discovering a new country day by day.
